Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes and covers a wide range of fields, including the interrelationships between brain, environment and behavior. Psychology courses introduce theories and research that can help you understand oneself and others. Students can apply what they learn about interpersonal relationships, problem solving, stress management, and emotional intelligence to their personal life, work, and academic pursuits. Those skills often transfer to other pathways as well (The Skillful Psychology Student). For more information, please visit the American Psychological Association.
The Associate of Arts degree in Psychology is intended to provide you with the first two years of general requirements and a basis in psychology that will prepare you for transfer to a four-year college or university. It can be completed in just four semesters and may be attained completely online.
